Statesville Prison, PA:
The prison matron entered the cell quietly as her prisoner slept. Her gaze sympathetic, she hesitated and reached out a long arm, almost as if tempted to wake Lindsay from her nightmare, but then stopped herself. Her eyes narrowed as she recalled the case file. She had worked too long and too hard in this place to be taken in now.
Squaring her shoulders, the guard started to slip out of the cell as silently as she had come in, but not before pausing to take another look at Lindsay on the bunk. Lindsay was still tossing and turning, her mental anguish evident. Despite that, in sleep she looked incredibly young and child-like, her features angelic.
With a sigh, the guard untwisted the blanket at Lindsay's feet and gently re-laid it over Lindsay's prone form. The action seemed to still her as Lindsay moved into a fetal position, snuggling up under the warmth.
"Sleep now, Rappaport," the matron called out as she left the room, although she doubted it would be that easy for the inmate.
("Lindsay, is that you?")
("Troy? Troy, where are you?")
("Lindsay?)
("Troy? Troy, I?m lost! I?m trying to find you!")
("Oh, Lindsay! I?m in here! Lindsay!")
